There’s something I see all a lot on socials at the moment that I need to mention.

It’s when a brilliant, talented coach, consultant or leader with a powerful story and solid speaking skills says:

“I just don’t get it. I’ve applied to so many TEDx events, and nothing’s landing. I know I’ve got something important to say…”

And underneath that there’s frustration, confusion and comparison. And sometimes, even a bit of resentment.

I totally understand it.

The TEDx process isn’t straightforward. It’s not built to be. There’s no universal template or clear path. And it can seem like just a swirl of event themes, vague forms, and a sea of other hopeful applicants.

So let me offer a reframe:

TEDx isn’t about finding great speakers with great stories.

It’s about spreading powerful, paradigm-shifting ideas.

Yes, your story matters, but it’s not the headline.

Curators aren’t scanning applications thinking, “Who’s got the most impressive life?”

They’re asking, “What idea will make our audience (and the world) think differently?”

That means this:

If your application leads with you, you’re missing the point and need to zoom out.

Detach a little from your personal narrative and ask:

What’s the bigger message in my story that links to a bigger issue?

How does this shift thinking for others?

What ripple effect does this create beyond me?

This mindset shift, from “my story” or “my speaker skills” to “the idea behind it” is the thing to unlock.

And it’s exactly why I created Teddy, a hybrid solution that helps you stop spinning, start shaping your idea, and finally submit an application that lands.

Because here’s what I know from being on both sides of the TEDx coin as a speaker AND as a curator.

You don’t need to become someone else, or wait to be more ready.

You do need a clear, compelling idea worth spreading.

Teddy walks you through exactly how to find it.

I’ve poured all my expertise into a pre-loaded digital space that removes the overwhelm and helps you find your TEDx-worthy message, before we even meet.

And we do meet, because the expert human element is still highly crucial to this process.

(People are already landing talks using this approach!)

If you’re ready to stop guessing and start submitting ideas with confidence, this is for you.
