At this time of year, I often see highly driven people trying to do it all, wrap up business goals, finalise family plans, and still somehow show up joyfully for everyone else.
Behind the scenes, though?
Many of us feel like we’re sprinting to the end with no real finish line in sight.
For some, December brought personal curveballs.
For others, the internal pressure is enough: “I should have mapped out Q1, sorted my plan, wrapped the gifts, been more visible, done more.”
But here’s what I had to come back to this week:
You are just human.
And humans need to pause to stay powerful.
In leadership, whether on stages or in strategy meetings, it’s easy to equate presence with performance. But in reality?
Presence is the antidote to performance.
It’s a big deep old breath that says:
“My voice won’t vanish if I don’t post this week.”
“Rest isn’t laziness, it’s essential.”
“Finishing the year connected to myself matters more than finishing the list.”
So if you’re feeling scrambled, scattered, or just… done, let this be your permission slip.
The work will wait!
The vision can simmer.
And your impact is just percolating in peace for a little bit.
Have a lovely Xmas and I’ll see you on the other side.
