Hi, I’m Helen
I’m a verbal communications strategist, podcaster and speaker coach, helping people increase their impact authority and reach through the power of their words.
I spent 15 years in the corporate world helping leaders deliver complex (and often quite dry!) messages in compelling ways to thousands of people.
Along the way I picked up a nifty little tool called storytelling and realised that literally ANYONE, no matter how inexperienced or unconfident, could use it to connect with an audience, build trust and make a big impact.
I’ve been on the journey too.
I spent a good few years hiding due to some life stuff. I lost my voice and vowed never to stand up and speak in front of people again.
After hitting a crunch point and committing to make a change, I gave a TEDx talk at the Brighton Dome, and have since gone on to help people land and deliver their own.
My journey has led to running speaker training programmes, live conferences, workshops, online courses and signature and keynote talks and becoming a TEDx event curator and speaker coach too.
I came across Helen after seeing an excellent training video about how to secure a TEDx Talk.

Will Land And Deliver guarantee to land me a TEDx gig?
Whilst I can’t make any promises about guaranteeing you a TEDx gig, I can promise this: The methods I share in this course have proven 100% successful not only in my case but also with others too. I share strategies that are overlooked and that hold the key to really standing out and getting noticed.
Plus you have my mentorship throughout the entire programme, with live Q&A, daily interaction and pitch reviews included. You also get my drag and drop templates for structuring your pitches as an added bonus, and you get the support and accountability of a community of like-minded people all striving towards the same thing! So you won’t be doing this alone!
I’ve applied for TEDx in the past with no success, what can you teach me that is different?
The method I use for applying is called my ‘cut through’ method. This is an overlooked and alternative way of applying for TEDx that has proven very successful in me not only landing a TEDx gig, but securing high profile speakers to speak at my events too. My clients have also used this method to land their own speaking gigs, including TEDx! It’s not your standard front door strategy. So if you are looking for new ways of applying and landing the gig, then this is for you.
How will the course help me hone my message?
There is a module specifically focused on helping you hone your core message. It is a crucial part for the talk shaping process and I take you right through it. You also get my support to help you shape your message throughout the entire programme.
I have no clue how to start looking for a TEDx gig, will the course help with this?
I’ve got you covered! There is module dedicated to outlining what you need to do step by step to apply, including my ‘cut through’ method to get you noticed.
Will the course include how to actually pitch?
Yes! I’ve included my ‘cut through’ method and every other way that you can apply for TEDx dependent on the event. Every TEDx event is different in terms of their application process, but I’ll be there to support you through the entire 6 weeks to help you tweak your application. Plus I’ll be holding dedicated pitch sessions totally focused on helping you to be pitch perfect.
Does it include how to come up with an interesting/TED worthy topic?
Yes! Not only are there dedicated modules focused on how to create your own stand out idea worth spreading, I’ll be focusing on helping you get this nailed in our lives calls. If you sign up in the first 48 hours, you also get a 121 coaching session with me.
How long does each module take?
I’ve created bite sized modules that will only take a short amount of time to watch and implement. This course is all about simple guidelines and action plus live support to guide you to take inspired action. I will be on hand throughout the 6 weeks to support you through the process with any questions you have.
Do you review the prepared talk?
This course is designed to help you land and deliver your talk through the guided modules. I will be providing feedback on your core message and pitches for sure! If you land the gig, well that’s just awesome, and I will be providing a solution at a very special rate for anyone who is ready to go to the next level and have support in preparing their talk.
Will you teach me how to overcome nerves?
Yes! I include a section on how I overcame my nerves by using a very simple and well-known method that works! I will also be on hand (as well as the other awesome people going through the programme) to help you overcome any mindset blocks and give more hints and tips on overcoming nerves.
